In Istana Negara, there are 3 groups of forces marching (we call it PASKIBRAKA) which are consisted of 17,845 flag raisers. 17-8-45 means our first declaration of independence. Moreover, three of 17 have to fly the flag.

Yup, we have done telling the general info of Indonesia Independence Day Ceremony. Do you know what else we usually do on The Independence Day?  We do lotta fun games!

Go further down then you will know more about our fun games! ;)

1. Eating "Krupuk"

Before you know further about this contest, do you have any idea about "krupuk"? Well, 'krupuk" is one of Indonesian crackers which has lotta kinds. The most common "krupuk" that we use is "White  Krupuk". In this contest, some contestants have to eat hanging "krupuk" without handling it, as soon as possible. 2. Sack Race
Sack race is a pretty popular race held on the day of independence. The contestants are asked to wear gloves and a sack as a race by jumping toward the finish line. This unique game popular because it is easy and inexpensive, requiring only a sack as a media game.

It is said that when Indonesia was still under colonial rule, all materials that can be used to be taken by the invaders fabric and all that remains is plastic, rubber and sack. Inevitably our forefathers wore burlap cloth made from a hot and very itchy when it was worn.

3. Tug of War

In Indonesia, a tug of war game compulsory in any event 17's. Both teams hold each end of the mine and trying to pull the other team crossed the line specified. Winners are determined as a fabric / other markers embedded in the middle of the rope over the line or the other team has fallen completely and could not draw anymore.

The game is played by both men and women. It takes strength and coordination to be able to exert the right power at the same time. A cohesive team is better than a team that does not compact even more powerful members

It could be in the form of costume, the player was asked to wear gloves or (if the players are all men) were asked to use women's clothing, there are also certain professions who wear uniforms and even dangdut songsbecome the companion of the games! 6. Gebuk Bantal / Hitting the Pillow

Because the rod is usually made before then dropping slippery opponent is not difficult. So easy in fact both players usually fall into the water simultaneously. The winner is determined by who last fall into the water.

7. Panjat Pinang

TA-DA! This is the most difficult game in this list because of the competition in the struggle for independence, the difficulties faced, failure to whip to continue to fight, willingness to take personal desires for the sake of the common good and of course the cohesiveness and unity to achieve independence.

The history of the game is actually quite ironic. In the Dutch colonial era every big event then the Dutch would make the race is on to see the difficulties indigenous people claim the prize at the top and it was entertaining them. The invaders laugh at the actions of the players for the sake of taking a gift that is not how.

A nut trees are tall and the trunk covered by lubricants prepared by the race committee. At the top of the tree, put up prizes. The participants compete to earn these gifts by climbing trees.

Hence the slippery tree trunks (having been given a lubricant), the tree climbers often fall. Sense and cooperation of the participants to climb the tree trunk is what usually managed to overcome slippery tree trunks, and become interesting attraction for the audience. The prizes were distributed to the participants each!
